My background spans geology, environmental science, computing and a PhD focused on usability, metadata, and electronic lab notebooks. Over my career I’ve worked in both academia and industry as a software engineer, UX and usability specialist, technical author, information architect, researcher, and teacher. I also maintain an active creative practice in fine art, photography, printmaking and design.
